How to make Hard Choices |Ruth Chang | TED Talk

I regularly refer to Ruth Chang's TED Talk to help me make "hard choices".

The video helps me clarify and differentiate "easy" choices from "hard choices".

Easy Choices = choices when the alternative is much better than others and easy choices can be numerically compared.

Hard Choices = when 2 alternatives (are not numerical) and both alternatives have pros and cons. One choice is not obviously better than the other.

How do you make a decision when faced with hard choices and there are no obvious answers?

The key to making these decisions is to remember that each alternative carries consequences that you OWN. Try making that hard choice that fits YOUR values and not because it fits someone else's values.

In other words, OWN your choices and back your own beliefs and values.

Life is full of difficult decisions and Ruth rightly states that these situations are actually a blessing in disguise.
Why???

Its because these decisions are pivotal moments in your life. It's through these situations that offer you the opportunity to DEFINE who you really are, who you aspire to be and where your values stand.

So cherish these moments of hard choices and leave a trail that defines you.
